The Brooklyn Nets have extended head coach Jordi Fernandez’s contract. The team signed Fernandez and his entire staff to new multiyear deals. Sources provided this information to ESPN on Monday.
Nets owner Joe Tsai and general manager Sean Marks agreed to the extensions this week. This move shows a long-term commitment to Fernandez. He has now completed two seasons leading the team.
Fernandez has guided the Nets through consecutive rebuilding seasons. His overall record across two years is 46 wins and 118 losses. He has focused heavily on developing the team’s young players.
The coach has also helped veterans achieve career years. Players like Michael Porter Jr. have thrived under his guidance. Nic Claxton and Day’Ron Sharpe are other examples.
Fernandez was originally hired by the Nets in 2024. He joined the organization after two seasons in Sacramento. There, he served as the associate head coach for the Kings.
