EUGENE, Ore. — Dylan Raiola led Oregon’s quarterback performance in Saturday’s spring game, not Dante Moore. Raiola completed 7-of-13 passes for 146 yards, including a notable 76-yard touchdown pass to Evan Stewart.
After making several short throws, Raiola connected with Stewart, who outpaced Aaron Scott Jr. Raiola expressed gratitude and emotion during the moment, stating, “I was very grateful and very emotional in the moment.”
Raiola transitioned from a starting position in Lincoln to become Moore’s backup at Oregon. He noted that the decision was challenging but emphasized that days like Saturday are common in the Oregon quarterback room.
Raiola described the atmosphere with his teammates as enjoyable, saying, “It’s a complete blast.” He appreciated the camaraderie in the quarterback group and how it eased his transition from home.
His spring game debut was significant as it marked his first live game since a leg injury last fall. Raiola participated in two scrimmages before this event but felt the experience of playing in front of 45,600 fans was unique.
Head coach Dan Lanning commented on Raiola’s performance, noting he saw Raiola enjoy playing football and connect on deep passes. Lanning expressed excitement about Raiola’s progress, saying, “I was just excited to see Dylan playing out there with some joy and passion.”
Raiola’s enthusiasm began even before his first snap, as he remarked, “We had the Harley on our side and I’ve never heard something so loud.”
