Fans of the show ‘Yellowstone’ are expressing disappointment that actor Luke Grimes is ‘not a real cowboy.’ Grimes discussed this reaction during an interview with Toronto radio station CHUM 104.5.
He mentioned that some fans are so invested in the show that they feel let down by its fictional nature. Grimes shared, “A lot of times you’ll get the, ‘You’re not a real cowboy.'” He clarified, “Well, of course I’m not, I’m an actor.”
Grimes also explained that if he were a real cowboy, he would be “herding cattle right now” instead of acting. His role in ‘Yellowstone’ did inspire him and his wife to move to Montana.
However, he revealed on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ that some local residents are unhappy with the population increase. He shared an incident where friends from California received a message written in dust on their car saying, ‘go back.’
Grimes noted that locals can be sensitive about newcomers, leading him to avoid disclosing his exact location. He said, “People are super weird about it.”
‘Yellowstone’ is a popular show on the Paramount Network and will conclude its fifth season in November 2024.
