The Usos recently shared a childhood story about their cousin Roman Reigns. They discussed his early football training discipline. The story originates from their time growing up together.
Jey Uso brought up the topic on the show Hot Ones Versus. He asked Jimmy Uso to share an embarrassing story. The story is set at the Myrtle Grove ballpark from their youth.
Jimmy Uso then recounted the specific memory. He said their football games would start at 8:00 a.m. Roman Reigns had to make weight because he was a bigger kid.
Jimmy Uso described Reigns’ pre-game routine. The team would arrive around 7:30 a.m. for the 8:00 a.m. game. Reigns would already be there by 6 a.m.
He was approximately eight to ten years old at the time. Reigns would wear two trash bags. He ran laps to sweat and make weight.
Jimmy Uso said Reigns would sweat profusely during this. After making weight, he would eat whatever he wanted. He would then regain the weight before playing.
Reigns would subsequently dominate all the other kids on the football field. Jey Uso then contrasted their mothers’ approaches. He said their mom would yell ‘Get up’ instead of babying them.
The Usos emphasized they were raised more like brothers than cousins. They all played football together for years. This included sharing the same early morning start times.
Jey Uso introduced the story by calling Reigns their ‘first cousin’. He stated Roman Reigns is more like a brother to them. The story was shared publicly on the Hot Ones Versus show.
