The 2026 NBA playoffs are in full swing, with the Timberwolves taking on the Nuggets in the Western Conference first round. The Timberwolves lead the series 3-1 after winning Game 4 with a score of 112 to 96. This victory comes despite losing key players due to injuries.

In Game 4, the Timberwolves faced significant challenges as they lost their starting backcourt early in the game. Donte DiVincenzo suffered a torn right Achilles just 79 seconds into the match, while Anthony Edwards hyperextended his left knee and required assistance to leave the court. Despite these setbacks, the Timberwolves managed a strong performance in the second half.

Ayo Dosunmu stepped up in place of Edwards, scoring 43 points on 13-of-17 shooting. His contributions were vital, as he scored a total of 66 points in the two home games for Minnesota. Naz Reid also added 17 points off the bench, further aiding the team’s efforts.

The Nuggets are now facing elimination, struggling to find their rhythm with Aaron Gordon hampered by a calf injury. In the previous games, the Timberwolves won Game 1 by a score of 116 to 105 and Game 2 with a score of 119 to 114. They also secured a convincing 113 to 96 victory in Game 3.

Looking ahead to Game 5, scheduled for Monday at 10:30 p.m. ET, all eyes will be on Edwards as he is set to undergo an MRI on his knee. The Timberwolves will need to assess the impact of their injuries as they aim to close out the series and advance further in the playoffs. This playoff series highlights the resilience of the Timberwolves, particularly in moments of adversity.
