Flores stated, “He deserves my blessing,” emphasizing his confidence in Mendoza. The former Raiders quarterback and coach made it clear how much he supports Mendoza wearing the number he once donned.
Mendoza, selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, was celebrated for his impressive performance while playing for the Hoosiers. Flores remarked, “He’s perfect,” highlighting Mendoza’s ability to make every throw and execute plays effectively.
Flores wore No. 15 for the Raiders from 1960 to 1966, throwing for over 11,000 yards and 92 touchdowns during his career. He is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2021.
