Rafael Marquez will become the new head coach of the Mexican national soccer team, replacing Javier ‘Vasco’ Aguirre. The appointment was confirmed by Mexico’s sporting director Duilio Davino in an exclusive interview with Fox Sports Mexico. Marquez’s contract is almost completely closed.
Duilio Davino stated that Marquez’s contract is signed. He also said the technical staff is practically 80 percent finalized. Davino made these remarks during his conversation with Fox Sports Mexico.
The 2026 World Cup has not yet opened with Mexico versus South Africa. However, Mexico has already found Aguirre’s replacement. The team also has at least one member of the next technical body.
