MINNEAPOLIS — The Denver Nuggets face a critical Game 6 against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday night, with their playoff survival on the line. Coach David Adelman revealed that Aaron Gordon’s status is questionable due to left calf tightness.

Gordon felt tightness following a Game 2 loss and missed Game 3. He returned for Game 4 but struggled in 23 minutes, scoring nine points and grabbing one rebound.

He did not play in Game 5, which the Nuggets won 125-113, keeping their season alive. Gordon’s effectiveness will be crucial if he plays on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. MT.

Adelman noted, “I thought Aaron in the first half (of Game 4) was very different from Aaron in the second half — and I know in both halves, he wasn’t moving great.”

Gordon’s mobility is a concern as he attempts to regain his athleticism in a high-pressure situation. If he plays, the Nuggets need him to perform better than he did in Game 4.

Spencer Jones filled in for Gordon in Game 5, scoring 20 points and recording three rebounds and three blocks. “Everybody knows Aaron wants to play,” said Adelman. “The guy’s the ultimate teammate.”

As the Nuggets look to overcome a 3-2 deficit in the series, they face possible elimination in the next two games if they fail to secure a victory.

Gordon’s status is critical, and his ability to contribute effectively could dictate the outcome against the Timberwolves.
