The Seattle Mariners (16-19) are set to face the Atlanta Braves (25-10) this week in a crucial series.

Coming off a disappointing home stretch against the Kansas City Royals, the Mariners now take on one of the hottest teams in baseball.

Both teams are battling injuries, making this series particularly challenging.

The Mariners will be without Brendan Donovan, who is starting a rehab assignment this week and hopes to join the team in Chicago.

Victor Robles is also nearing a return but will likely miss this series as he has just started rehabbing in Tacoma.

Cal Raleigh remains day-to-day with side tightness, and setup man Matt Brash is out due to lat inflammation.

For the Braves, Ronald Acuña Jr. is on the 10-day injured list with a hamstring strain.

Michael Harris Jr. is dealing with a quad issue and will likely be limited to designated hitter duties.

This situation complicates matters for catcher Sean Murphy, who is returning after off-season hip labrum surgery and will also need to be limited to DH.

Ha-Seong Kim has just begun a rehab assignment and will not travel to Seattle.

Spencer Strider returned from the injured list to make his first start of the year but struggled in Coors Field, leading to a heavy bullpen day.

Atlanta is also without closer Raisel Iglesias, although he is expected to be activated off the IL on Tuesday.

The Braves are missing four rotation arms due to major surgeries this spring or last fall: AJ Smith-Shawver, Hurston Waldrep, Joey Wentz, and Spencer Schwellenbach.
