Bruce Buffer, the UFC’s lead in-cage announcer for over 30 years, addressed a recent mistake he made during UFC Seattle.

During the heavyweight bout between Marcin Tybura and Tyrell Fortune, Buffer mistakenly announced Tybura as the winner.

Shortly after, officials called Fortune back to the octagon, and Buffer corrected himself, declaring Fortune the winner.

Buffer commented on the incident, saying, “I accept full responsibility for it.” He emphasized he doesn’t blame others for mistakes.

UFC CEO Dana White also responded, noting, “It’s happened before… But yeah, Buffer is an absolute pro and very rarely does that guy make mistakes.”

Buffer previously faced a similar situation at UFC 327, where he announced Chris Padilla as the majority draw winner against Marquel Mederos.

About an hour later, it was revealed the decision was overturned to a majority draw due to a scoring discrepancy.

Buffer reflected, “Obviously it’s not an enjoyable moment because I’m a perfectionist.”

He reiterated his long experience, stating, “I’ve been doing this for over 30 years, I’ve announced thousands of fights.”

Buffer clarified that while the UFC Seattle mistake was his responsibility, the situation at UFC 327 was out of his control.

He mentioned that he was given the announcement by the commission, which was later changed.

Buffer is involved in the upcoming Bud Light UFC Summer Series, starting with UFC 328 on May 9.

The series will feature signature cups and UFC-style cans, along with a concert the night before UFC 329 at Toshiba Plaza.
