Zhetysu Triumphs Over Beijing in AVC Champions League Opener

Defending champions Zhetysu started their AVC Women’s Champions League 2026 campaign with a 3-2 victory over Beijing Arctic Ocean in Bangkok.

The match, held at The Mall Bangkapi Convention Hall, was a tightly contested affair that saw Zhetysu rally from behind.

Zhetysu secured the win with set scores of 25-16, 22-25, 23-25, 25-17, and 15-13, advancing to the semifinals.

After winning the first set, Zhetysu dropped the next two sets before responding strongly in the fourth.

Yiwen Miao was the standout player for Zhetysu, scoring 22 points with 20 attacks, one block, and one ace.

The competition features eight club teams in a direct elimination format, including quarterfinals, semifinals, and medal matches.

Upcoming matches include Nakhonratchasima 3M Film VC against Mehregan Noor Club on April 26.

Additionally, NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki will face Harudotchonburi RMUTT VC, and Supreme TIP Chonburi E.Tech will play against Bandung BJB Tandamata on April 27.
