Persib Bandung and Borneo FC are currently in a fierce competition for the Super League title. Beckham Putra, a key player for Persib, acknowledges increased pressure this season. After week 29, Borneo FC matched Persib’s points at 66, putting both teams at the top of the standings.
Persib’s title bid has faced challenges after drawing their last two matches against Dewa United (2-2) and Arema FC (0-0). Despite these setbacks, Persib remains first in the league due to their superior head-to-head record against Borneo FC this season. They have five matches left to play against Bhayangkara FC, Persija Jakarta, PSM Makassar, PSIM Yogyakarta, and Persijap Jepara.
Beckham Putra described the current situation as more challenging compared to the previous two seasons when Persib secured the championship. He stated, “Now our points are the same (Persib and Borneo), it poses a unique challenge for us as we are under pressure too.” Beckham, nicknamed Etam, is committed to giving his all to win the title for the third consecutive year.
He emphasized the importance of focusing on their own performance, saying, “But the most important thing is we focus on our team, how we play with our will, our abilities, we will give everything.” Beckham expressed hope that in the remaining five matches, they can achieve maximum results and retain their championship.
