“About two years ago, FC Thun faced serious financial problems and was threatened with bankruptcy,” said Meyer.
He noted that the businessman acquired about a third of the club to stabilize its finances and maintain local control.
The success on the pitch is also due to management continuity, which retained the coach despite previous promotion failures.
Meyer emphasized the importance of the club’s player development philosophy.
