The NBA announced the schedule for the Spurs’ second-round playoff series on Thursday. The No. 2 seed San Antonio Spurs, who defeated the seventh-seeded Portland Trail Blazers in five games, are set to face the winner of the third-seeded Denver Nuggets versus sixth-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves series.
The Timberwolves can clinch their series with a victory in Game 6 on Thursday night at the Target Center in Minneapolis. The first two games of the Spurs’ second round will take place at the Frost Bank Center, with Game 1 scheduled for Monday night.
This marks San Antonio’s first appearance in the conference semifinals since 2017. Game 2 will be held on Wednesday night, before the series moves to the road for Game 3 on Friday, May 8, and Game 4 on Sunday, May 10.
If necessary, Game 5 will take place on Tuesday, May 12, in San Antonio. Game 6, if required, will be on the road on Friday, May 15, and Game 7, if needed, will be on May 17 at the Frost Bank Center.
Spurs forward Julian Champagnie expressed eagerness to begin the series, stating, “Personally, I want to play sooner. The waiting game is not for me.” He added, “But whatever happens, we don’t have any preferences regarding the opponent. I think that no matter who we play, we’ll be ready for it.”
The Spurs’ next scheduled game is Game 1 of the second round, set for Monday night at the Frost Bank Center.
