Actor Samuel Monroe Jr., recognized for his role in “Menace II Society,” is on life support after suffering from untreated meningitis.
Monroe Jr. contracted meningitis while filming in Las Vegas 18 months ago, but the disease went untreated for eight months.
This negligence resulted in the meningitis spreading to his brain and spine, as confirmed by his wife, Shawna Stewart.
Stewart stated, “As Samuel’s wife, Shawna Stewart, we all been fighting over the past nine months to keep him alive due to meningitis.”
She elaborated that Samuel went to several hospitals where his condition was repeatedly misdiagnosed.
By the time he received proper treatment, the meningitis had already advanced significantly.
His family has launched a GoFundMe account to help cover his medical expenses and support his two young children during this challenging time.
“The emotional and financial toll of Samuel’s illness has been overwhelming,” the family noted in their GoFundMe campaign.
They emphasized that the funds raised will go toward his mounting medical bills and providing for his children during this incredibly difficult time.
Samuel has two children, Kingston Monroe, 12, and Brooklynn Monroe, 11.
The family is asking for prayers as Samuel remains on life support due to meningitis.
Monroe Jr. has appeared in various TV shows and films, including “NYPD Blue,” “Tales from the Hood,” and “Set It Off.”
The family hopes that the community will come together to support them in this fight for Samuel’s life.
