Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant will not participate in Game 4 against the Los Angeles Lakers. He is sidelined due to a sprained left ankle, which has resulted in a bone bruise.
Durant sustained the injury during the second half of Game 2 on Tuesday night. Medical sources indicated that a bone bruise could typically require a two to three-week recovery.
Despite his efforts with around-the-clock treatment, Durant has not been cleared by doctors for play. The injury has caused swelling, stiffness, and limited mobility in his ankle.
Durant arrived at the Rockets facility on Sunday morning for rehabilitation. He engaged in film sessions and meetings with his teammates, participating in all non-basketball activities over the weekend.
In his first season with the Rockets, Durant had missed only four regular-season games, none due to injury. However, this marks his third absence in the postseason.
