Wolverhampton Wanderers have been relegated from the Premier League. Their fate was sealed on Monday. West Ham United’s 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace confirmed it.
Rob Edwards’ side has only 17 points after 33 games. Wolves started the season under Vítor Pereira. He was sacked in November last year.
Former Luton Town and Middlesbrough boss Rob Edwards replaced him. Pereira is now at Nottingham Forest. That club is also in a relegation battle.
Wolves had a miserable Premier League season. They did not get their first win until January. They have won only two more games since then.
Those wins came against Aston Villa and Liverpool. Both teams were chasing European spots. The relegation ends an eight-season top-flight stay.
The West Midlands club will now return to the Championship. They last played there in the 2017/18 season. Their Premier League journey is over for now.
