On another note, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive occurs on Saturday, May 9. This initiative encourages residents to leave donations of non-perishable food in bags near their mailboxes for letter carriers to collect.
The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, which began in 1993, has grown into the largest one-day food drive in the nation. It benefits local food pantries across the U.S.
Additionally, the 32nd Annual Celebrity Breakfast will support the Thomas Merton Family Center. The event takes place on Wednesday, May 13, at Sacred Heart University Martire Family Arena in Fairfield at 7 a.m.
Former NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst Matt Hasselbeck will serve as the guest speaker. The breakfast supports critical programs for individuals and families in Fairfield County.
